problem with unwanted shutdowns

Building a system for a friend,

900 t-bird
hurcules gforce 2 mx
128 mushkin rev 1.5
memorex 48x cd
20.5 WD HD
system temp approx 38 degrees

problem is this, the system will automatically shutdown and sometimes reboot
for no know reason. I looked for the files concerning the tape back up fix
in the KT7 Faq and they are not even in the system, so I don't think that is
my problem. I have nearly the same system and it works great. I even
mirriored my bios settings on his computer to no avail. I am at my wits
end, any suggestions? One thing i did notice is that sometimes on the
initial post screen it says AMD processor and sometimes it says AMD 900
processor.

Thanks in advance

I had this problem with my system. I removed power from the system and reset the BIOS with the jumper. The power cord has to be removed from the system or your power strip has to be off(if your ATX power supply has a switch turn it off, 0 power to the board is neccesary). Then restart and re-configure the bios, one step at a time. You may have the same board, but it may not act the same.

I had this problem occasionally. At times my computer would just restart. It could be a power thing, like a brown-out or something. It could also be a weak power strip or power supply. I dont think it is a hardware problem though.

sadly enough we both have the same cases too antec 282 with 300 watt PS.

Still happening and still stumped
