Hi All,

I just installed the latest version of Ubuntu server in a vsphere environment to host a plex media server install. I have my media in a NAS (xpenology) and am using CIFS to mount the shared media folder on the Ubuntu server. Everything works fine except when I add new media to the shared media folder on the NAS. The permissions doesn't seem to propagate to the new media so PMS displays an error "Please check the permissions for this file." Any advice to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

If your are mounting the the folder as root then you will need to change the permissions on your mount folder so the user running plex has read permissions on it.
