I am putting a system together with a Thunder K7 and a Promise SX6000 RAID card.

The problem I am encountering is that the mobo does not seem to want to boot from the SX6000.

Here are the specs and what I have already sent to Tyan tech support:

OS: Trying to install W2K Server SP3
BIOS Revision: 2.14
Installed Card(s): Promise SuperTrax SX6000

Problem: I cannot seem to get the board to boot from the SX6000. I have successfully completed the configuration of the SX6000 and the DOS portion of the W2K Server install. I can make the board boot from floppy or CD-ROM without any problem. When I boot from a tools CD that I made, I can change drives to the FAT32 partitions that are on the SX6000 array (Which is configured as RAID 5).

I do not have a drive attached to the Primary IDE and I would like to not have to.

I do have a Sony tape drive attached to the channel A SCSI port.

There is 1 XP 2400+ installed

There is 1 GB ECC DDR 2100 in Slot 2 (Corsair)

Thank you very much in advance for any help that is given.

Jason.

You have to go to bios and make the add on card the bood device
It should be listed on the list as a controler

Sorry, I did that. I even made it the very first boot device. Didn't make a difference.

Thanks,
Jason.

P.S. -- The system will post and so does the SX6000. When the SX6000 is done, the system just displays a flashing cursor in the upper left corner.
