problem with the desktop appearance with Win XP Pro

Hi guys

I have had XP running for about 2 months now. The task bar looks like the old windows version, you know the grey bar. It just changed one day on boot up. I tried changing it in the options, but it doesnt work. I really dont wanna format and install AGAIN for the 100th time just for a taskbar.

Any ideas??

So you tried right clicking on the task bar and changing the appearance so it isn't set to classic? Sorry I'm not on an XP machine at the moment so cannot give exact instructions

Take a look here and see if any of these tweaks can restore it back to how it should be.

yea i tried that, it just doesnt want to change. I know its such a small problem, but i'm picky.
