I've just gotten a tdk 12/10/32 cdrw and it has been hyped to rip audio at 24x. But the best I can get using AudioCatalyst is 14x. This is with DMA enabled/disabled. Any thoughts?

UPDATE:I also forgot to mention that while I am using AudioCatalyst in the box that says "Used CPU Time (Buffered Burst) it shows that I am getting around 200 possible speed problems for every file ripped. Is this normal?

Heres the skinny on my system:

Asus P3C-E w/ 256 PC800 RDRAM
P3750E oc'ed to 1ghz
WD 30gb 5400 hd
Maxtor 20gb 7200 hd
12/10/32 TDK
Ricoh MP7040S
Adaptec 29160 scsi card
Soundblaster live !Value
3C905B NIC
32mb Geforce 2 GTS

Thats about it.

I read on TDK's site that it does depend on the cd length, and that it can be anywhere as low as 9x up to 24x max. Well if I would have known that it would be 24 max instead of 24 standard. I wouldn't have bought it. But either way 15x is better than the 6x i was getting. Any more ideas?

Only reason why i bought this was to make my job easier while i rip and catalog about 400 or so cd's. Anyone else make something that rips audio cd's faster?
