Problem with System Restore

My desktop is running windows XP. While troubleshooting a problem with my iTunes, I ran System Restore. It is showing blue screen and the Restore Restore progress bar. It has gotten to about 20% and hung up. I need some advice on how to get out of this without causing dire consequences. Thanks
 
All you can do is power down and try system restore again. Luckily you've got a back up image of your drive so no sweat if something goes wrong. You did make a back up image?
