Problem with Syntax Olevia 30" LCD HDTV

I have the Syntax Olevia 30" LCD HDTV. When I turn on the TV, the screen turns to its usual blue, but then there is a buzzing/humming sound coming from the speakers for about 2 seconds, and then the screen turns black, as if the TV is off. I know the TV is not off because I can hear music from my DVD player coming out from the speakers. The blue standby light is also not on. If I hit the power button on the TV, it does finally go off and the blue standby light comes on. Anyone know why the screen blacks out after I turn on the TV?

mmm. i tried Syntax Support ticket system and email and they still haven't replied for two days now... If anyone knows why an LCD might faintly buzz and then power down, it would be greatly appreciated... Thanks
