Problem with Startup

Hi I have this probelm with my computer starting up. I have an 800 Mhz AMD Thunderbird with 384 MB SD RAM on a ASUS A7V motherboard. It takes a really long time to load Windows. It says that the Ultra 100 BIOS is not installed because there are no drives attached. It freezes on a screen that lists the PCI settings for about a minute and then loads into Windows. Is there any way to fix this problem? Thanks.

what do you have in your pci slots and in what order. check in your bios and tell what it tells your for your pci slots.

i had that exact problem, actaully lots of people have check out the a7v faq over at amdmb, first get the latest bios, and second, in the bios disable the promise controller, ur not using it, and the detection is jus slowing ur boot time, and well, when i upgraded my 4in1's it made it even faster (actaully getting one of the versions before 4.29 slowed my boot time by about 2minutes, then got 4.29, and not 4.32 and no probs), good luck .. but check out the a7v faq ..

Hmm.. my friend has this same problem. I'm working on it, I'll tell you when I figure it out 🙂

I updated the BIOS and disabled the promise controller. It still freezes up with it list the PCI slots though.
