Problem with Starsiege:Tribes

I recently downloaded the free version of Starsiege: Tribes, which is version 1.8. I have downloaded the patch to 1.11 twice now, and every time I try to open the patch, I get an error message that says.

Can't run 16-bit Windows program
Cannot find file C:\blahblahblah\tribes18to111.exe (or one of its components). Check to ensure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.

I also have something called wowexec.exe running in the background, which from what I've figured out from the all powerful Interweb, helps 16-bit programs run properly in WinXP. So I have no idea why this patch won't install. Any ideas?

I'll start with the easy part. You are wasting your time with that game.

Aside from that, I can't think of anything that will make it work.

Tribalwar.com would be a good place for you to register for Tribes info. Just be sure and keep technical questions in the Tribes Talk forum, and even then, expect a few flames due to the typical gaming forum punk factor 🙂

Edit: btw, you can find links to patched versions as well.
