I have my laptop hooked up to my receiver to listen to an Internet broadcast. It sounds great until I plug the power cord in, then I get buzzing. No buzzing on battery. Any suggestions for a fix? I know there's something you can do, but I forget what it was...

Ground loop?

Try pluggin in your power adapter to the same power strip/outlet that your receiver is plugged into.

Could be some kind of EMI; try wrapping various wires in aluminum foil.

if that's the case, either your stereo or laptop isn't properly grounded, or you do not have a proper ground in your wiring (you ARE using three prong outlets, right?). quality pieces of audio equipment have ground lift switches to prevent this kind of thing from happening, but anything that's called a "receiver" isn't likely to include that 50 cent lifesaver.
