Problem with SoundBlaster 64 PCI

I recently built a new system and put a SoundBlaster 64 PCI sound card that I had lying around in it. When the system boots up I get an error message that says "Cannot load MIDI waveset" I checked everything and all looks OK. Drivers installed correctly, etc. I'm not going to be using MIDI so I even went in and disabled it, still the error persists. Please help!

Thanks

Did you first install the drivers & utilities from the Cd??? Or just use the native Win9X drivers??? Some of the older SB cards needed the original drivers installed first then upgraded this might be your problem...? (BTW this sounds like a Autoexec.bat or Config.sys problem)...(missing parameter is what I mean)

I have the same soundcard and have the same problem in the past, basically what it means is that you have to load up the waveset so the soundcard can play midi. If you have the original driver disk it might have a file call default.ecw or something end with ecw.

Load it up and it should work. If you couldn't find it, I think other soundcard like sb128 or live might have it too.

If you really couldn't find it i will be happy to email one to you, or just open an idrive account and I will be happy to send you one.
