Problem with sound on an A7N8X-VM/400

This is such a wierd problem. All of a sudden, today when I'm running this computer, after a few minutes, the sound starts playing in slow motion. Winamp, Foobar2000, and even Windows sounds are all really slow, like as if you are slowing a record down. The audio controller is the onboard C-Media 8738 chip, and the OS is Windows XP Pro SP1. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I've never seen anything like it. Restarting the computer straightens everything out for a few minutes.
