I have the DVD version of the game, my system specs are in my sig. My video and audio drivers are up to date and i have no programs running in the background...

After getting about 4 or 5 hours into a game, with regular saving, the game will unexpectedly quit (only during sailing), and I will get an option to report the error to Microsoft. At this point the game is not running anymore and I have to load it up again to continue playing. After trying to load the same character (from any save point), the game will operate normally for about 20 seconds and quit again, same as before, no matter how many times i try, after reboot, and even reinstalling. This has happened both characters that I have played 4-5 hours with. I reinstalled the game, and this time deleted the saved games, and will try again. If it still happens, then I will probably exchange the DVD version for a CD-ROM version, since the DVD version of WoW was also giving me problems.

Please post your suggestions/solutions, thanks.

If you think the problem may be DVD related, have you tried downloading a no-disc patch so that you don't even need the disk in the drive?

I haven't seen that happen before to me, but I have a different problem. After a random time playing, my mouse icon will freeze on screen. I can't move it at all. I can play with the keyboard, but it's a pain. When I close the game, WindowsXP still has the mouse pointer frozen, but if I move my mouse I get in effect an "invisible" mouse pointer that I can move around and use (obviously it's hard to know where the mouse is). I have to reboot to get the cursor to come back normally. I've never had this happen with any other games that I've ever played, only with Pirates.
