just read this review about the shuttle AK31A saying that their enlight powersupply didn't work with this board. any truth to this?

I'm about to order this motherboard with an enlight case with the 340 watt PS.

i have put together 2 systems using the AK31A and enlight case with the 340 watt PS. I have been very happy with the results.

I had never put together a system before and did not have any problems. I put my system together the first week in November and helped my brother put his system together over thanksgiving break.

By the way I would never have tried it if it hadn't been for the great info here at anandtech!

i put together a ak31 and enlight 300w case. The board gave me lots of trouble. But after a RMA,
its working like a charm. hoping to overclock it soon.

I use an old sparkle 235 watt ps, and the 5 volt rail and 12 volts readings are closer to spec than any other ps I've tried. The 300 watt sparkle is noisy. If you have the money, get one of the enermax power supplies and the quietest fan and best heatsink you can afford. I use the thermaltake volcano 5, but may run this fan on the thermalright sk6.

I've built a couple AK31A + 300W Enlight PSU systems and never had a problem.

I also built a system with these two pieces of equipment a couple of weeks ago without a problem.

Don't know about your particular combo, but I've had a few Shuttle AK31/AK31a boards that didn't work with a few Leadman/Powmax LC6100C power supplies. Those power supplies worked great with other boards and the Shuttle boards worked great with other power supplies. Also had the same brand power supply (but LC6100D model) not work with a Shuttle AV61 board. Same thing, the PS worked with other boards and the board worked with other power supplies. YMMV.
