Problem with scanner HP scanjet 4600

As title says.. I have a HP scanjet 4600 and the drivers are most current available. I am having a problem when I scan a picture. It is making stripes in the picture. One stripe is light than the other. Has anyone had any problems with this or know of a fix? Thanks
