The reason I ask is that I posted something over on the Sapphire site, they made the card I have, and someone said there was a problem with that card and the MB. THe problem is....well heck...I'll just do a cut and paste job....
Here's the original poster's problem and my response:
I have recently purchased a Sapphire Atlantis 9800 Pro graphics card and have the following during gameplay:
- Couloured stripes across the screen (vertically)
- Missing images and graphics from the player screen (mainly background and terrain)
- Speckled purple dots
- Scrambled images where the terrain seems to be jittering and moving around even when not moving characters
- Video drops to black screen and freezes system
These problems are not only on one game but any game I try!!
Here is my response:
Same problem here. Sending the damn card back and buying one BUILT BY ATI. This is the second Sapphire card I have had problems with. Never again.
No way it's a power problem. This card is in a newly built Opteron System on an ASUS SK8V. New load of Win XP, new drivers, etc....and the system has an Antec TruePower 550w PS.
The card is just crap.
After my post someone then posted and said this:
There lies your problem, loadsa ASUS users have been having trouble with their mobo's and ATI cards,..it's something to do with the ASUS BIOS and/or chipset drivers.
So any truth to what he is saying? Anyone else seen this problem?
