Hey everyone,

I'm trying to run a dual monitor setup on my new computer. I have an Abit KT7-Raid mobo running a T-Bird 1ghz w/ a Voodoo 3 3000 video card in the AGP port and another a video card in a PCI slot.

You're probably wondering why I just don't get a dualhead vid cards that are out on the market. Frankly, for my computing needs, the Voodoo 3 is fine, and I just don't have the funds to purchase another video card (the 2nd vid card was free).

Ok, when I install the second PCI vid card into the slot and boot the computer up, it automatically defaults to the PCI card. Of course I want my primary monitor to work off of the AGP card since it's the better card. I tried checking in the CMOS to find a setting that would allow me to choose the boot order for the vid card, but there doesn't seem to be one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

There should be a setting in your bios somewhere (sorry I can't be more specific) that dictates whether the computer seeks the pci card first or the agp. It shouldn't be too hard to find.

On mine (abit SH6) the setting is in "Integrated Peripherals" and it is called "init display first"

General recommendation - if you want to Dual-monitor, make life easier for yourself by using Matrox's G400's or G450's - that is the easiest way in my experience ... otherwise, you have to check the BIOS for "primary GFX-device" or something like that - HalfHuman was quite right.

Hope this helps. :D
