Hello good people of AnandTech !
I have almost a month to begin having problems reaching my NAS in my home network from outside, such as mobile or my job.
I started by replacing the router, then began to replace the cables and switches, then I decided to go down the software level and test myself forward.
Here is what i've tried:
* Port Forwarding specific ports.
* Deactivate all firewalls.
* Use diffrent DDNS Services to try to connect.
* Run my DMZ on my NAS IP.
* Remote connect to my router via it's own DDNS, failed.
Hardware:
* Router: ASUS RT-AC87U
* NAS: Synology DS213
* Switch: Netgear ProSafe 5 1gb
I cant figure this out, i work as a computer technican on a daily basis, i'm not a network engineer but i use to solve this kind of problems pretty easily, the only was i can reach my NAS is via Synology's QuickConnect, that is port 80 based, and i'll guess that is why i succed, but it's really slow and i want full functionallity on my NAS.
I'm hoping some of you out there can help me think outside the box, because i'm completly out of ideas here.
Regards
Tommy
