i installed windows 98se today on a clean drive. I got the correct most recent radeon drivers and installed them. When i set my desktop resolution to 1024x768 and color to 16bit and restarted my computer. when it was booting up it said "windows protection error..... internal stack overflow, change stacks setting in config.sys and try again" when it gets to windows a warning window pops up "there is a problem with the display settings. the adpter is incorrect or these setting dont work with hardware". I have no idea what to do. Yes my computer does see the radeon so it's not like it isn't detected or anything. Being stuck in 16 color mode isn't very cool.

Try newer drivers. If that doesn't work, reinstall win, if still not working the video card is toast.

Also check BIOS settings and make sure that video ROM shadowing or what ever is disabled. Also check the AGP 1X/2X/4x.

We also need specs!
motherboard?
Cpu?
