problem with radeon 9800 pro and janes usaf (on winxp)

anyone have ideas on how to fix the flashing problem while playing the game? the radar doesn't work unless I go into 3d cockpit mode (basically nothing shows up) and I noticed that the chaff/flare text flash very quickly. Within the menu system none of the drop downs work either 🙁

edit: using winxp pro, dx9 and the newest catalyst drivers, I tried a bunch of tweaks but nothing works.. I'm thinking I should've stuck with nvidia :|
 
nope...its a widely experienced problem with usaf...i can't play it on my 4200/xp either. some people experience it, some don't but no one has figured out how to fix it 🙁
man i miss that game..it was fun
and would look pretty gorgeous at 16x12 w/ aa/af

i'd try some stuff out but i left my CDs at home...

i resorted to putting in a second hard drive for windows 98.. which I think is a good idea since I have a decent collection of old dos/98 games that are still good 🙂
