problem with PSAPI.DLL

hello all.

i have a problem. every time i try to load programs like yahoo messenger, msn messenger, logitech software, IE7 and more - i get this error massage:

Procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library. PSAPI.DLL

i tried solving the problem with this methods:

1. searching for duplicate DLL (like many hits on google search suggested) - no duplication.
2. downloading the DLL from several sites and copying it on top of the current DLL.
3. last known good configuration.

i also tried using SFC - but when i use it i get this error massage:

windows file protection could not make the requested change. the specific error code is 0X000006ba the rpc server is unavailable.

any advice?

If it was working before, you could try a System Restore and see if that gets it straightened out. Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

No not at all, thats just a registry roll back to the last full boot. Completely different than system restore.
