problem with pictures in IE

just recently, i noticed that when i visit new pages in IE, some of the pictures don't load up, like there'll just be a white box with a red little X in its place. i have IE 6.0.2600. anyone know what might be wrong?

it could be just the images are broken images -- ie, the webmaster links to a wrong file or something.
you can test if this is the case by right clicking on the little x and choose "show picture". or you can click on the properties, copy the location of the image, and paste to a new browser to see if the image comes up

if it later shows up then there are problems with your browser
if they don't show up then it's the webmaster's fault.

maybe you can give us examples of the websites, then we can verify if that's the case

i've been to a couple sites, and i know for sure that the pics that some of the pics that are showing up at x's are not broken pictures, they should be working.
