Problem with PC - Powers up then powers down before boot

bamacre

Lifer
Edit: Problem solved. Switched cpu's out, and booted up fine. Bad cpu. Odd, but glad I found the problem.

Spec's...

Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 P965
Intel C2D E6400
Ultra X-Finity 600W
2GB Patriot Value DDR2 667
7950 GX2

I have tried booting with just the necessities. Same thing.
Switch the PSU for an Antec 430w. Same thing.
Switch the memory with Corsair VS DDR2 667. Same thing.
Switched the video card with an X300 SE. Same thing.
Switched the Intel HSF with another Intel HSF. Same thing.

The system powers up, then powers down just before the moment where the monitor screen would flicker on and boot begins. I am not getting any error beep codes.

Anyone had this problem before and have any ideas?

Is that power supply meet the minimum requirements for that processor and GPU? That video card I think requires 400w minimum. The processor I don't know yet...

Yes, and I am having the same issue with a 128MB X300 SE video card installed.

btw, sorry. i skipped through rather quickly and missed the 600w power supply as well as the "switch" to 430w power supply.
