Problem with Partition

I would like to make a change to a partition. I would like to add another partition to the existing one, I have a problem, the partition is a dynamic. I have Partition Magic 8 installed on the machine now but I think it is unable to recognize the partition since it is dynamic. I am basically wondering is there anyway to change the partition back so it's not dynamic, then I can make the changes I need from there. I don't think there is a way to do this with Partition Magic, I don't think there is anyway at all from what I know. If anyone has any ideas besides reformating the drive I would love some input.

Although this is one way and keep in mind that you will lose all the data on that partition, you can do 1 of the following:
1. create an empty directory on the partition that you want to expand (I'm guessing it's file system is NTFS) go to computer management/storage/disk management, right click on one partition that will expand onto the first and choose change drive letter and path, click add and check mount in the following emty folder and browse to the directory you created earlier. after that you can access this partition trough this directory.
2.
Install dskprobe.exe from the resource kit. Dskprobe will allow you to convert your dynamic disk back to basic quickly and easily. You just change the partition ID from 42 to 07. Unfortunately, MS has removed or obscured their KB article detailing how to use dskprobe to revert your disk back to basic, but it is quite easy and I have never seen a system crash due to changing the partition ID back from 42 to 07 on the MBR
I haven't try it but this guy doesn't seem to have any problems.
Good luck.

Wow I had no idea about this little trick....it worked great. The only problem I had is for some reason partition magic then killed my drive after I changed it back to a basic volume.
The idea with the dskprobe.exe and changing the 42 to a 07 and all that worked great though I appreciate your help!!!!!
