My motherboard.

Setup:

Two dvd-roms on the PRI-IDE channel

Two PATA HDD's on the PRI-Raid channel (Which also supports PATA drives.)

Problem:

I could never get the HDD's to be recognized in the bios, although they were an option to boot from.

Trying to setup WinXP Home, no HDD's recognized.

Troubleshooting:

1. Changed the master/slave jumper settings on the HDD's. No dice.
2. Changed the IDE cable. uh-uh.
3. Tried the SEC-Raid channel. Same old story.
4. Tried 1 and 2 on SEC-Raid channel. No go.
5. I tried the F6 thing (suggested by the seller of the board) and it seemed to do what I needed it to. Setup the drives on that controller as IDE. Still no dice.
6. You tell me...:)

I had a heck of a time getting my HDDs to work right on the P5GDC-V Deluxe which is similar to your board. Have you tried clearing the CMOS? Are your HDD's PATA or SATA?

I would clear the CMOS, remove everything but the primary HDD and see if that works before adding in all the other drives. What about trying the HDD on the PRI_IDE channel instead of the PRI_RAID?

Your mobo supports the following (provided as a reference for other readers):
The onboard Silicon Image Sil3114R and ITE 8212F RAID controllers plus the Intel ICH6R southbridge provide the best solution to your RAID requirements on different storage standards. The Intel ICH6R supports RAID 0, 1 and Intel Matrix RAID Technology on 4 Serial ATA ports. The Silicon Image Sil3114R controller offers four additional SATA interfaces and allows RAID 0, 1, 10, JBOD, and a RAID software patch to support RAID 5. For IDE hard disk drives, the ITE 8212F controller provides RAID 0, 1 , 0+1 functionality for two ATA133 channels.

*Edited first post to show PATA drives and Premium mobo instead of deluxe.

When I first got the motherboard, I cleared the CMOS. But I haven't tried it again, after doing all the steps above.

I've got the boot HDD and one CD-Rom running from the PRI_IDE channel right now. But I'd like to have it back to normal ;) (Normal being working the way it was before the mobo swap.)

Thanks for the reply, I'll try the CMOS again after work.
