Just switched to optical and got my optical modem/brouter Innbox G2427 from the provider. And ... Problems.
Before, on cable coax I had fixed IP and Linksys DD-WRT (192.168.1.1) with static internal IP 168.192.1.10 (gateway 1.10) forwarded to my server, with certain ports opened (21, 22, 80, 81, etc). It worked like a charm. Server was operational from LAN and WAN modes from everywhere on the world.
Now as for the new device ... No instructions, no guides, nothing on Internet, nada. And technical support is a joke. So I am all by myself here.
I connected server to that router as it was on the old one. Internet works OK. In LAN mode works ok. If I type 168.192.1.10 in browser it sends me to servers index web page. Ok, so there is no problem. But.
First problem:
They gave me DHCP IP. I protested, provider said it is not possible for that model to have fixed IP, but that they have unlimited timing for their DHCP's and that IP change only when they got some major work to do. Ok ... This possible, or are they screwing with me? I sense major problems with DNS there.
Second problem, if first one does not look impossible to solve: I found how to forward ports, but nothing happens as there I can't find option for static IP forwarding. If it even exists on that router. I can turn off DHCP server, but there are no options for static IP (except for router itself) that I can find.
So, any ideas. If not on topic then out of the box. Is there any possible way, that I could make my server work more or less exactly that it has? Maybe cheap switch could do the trick? Or is there another way? :\
Few pictures for orientation:
