Hey guys
Someone I know who recently got themselves a Gigabyte K8NSC939 motherboard as part of an upgrade, is having no end of hassles trying to get the onboard sound to go. Despite the fact that the drivers are correctly installed (there aren't any unknown devices showing in the device manager), and the sound isn't muted or anything as far as Windows or the speakers used goes, no sound comes from the system.
I've tested the speakers on my PC, and they work just fine. I've even tried reloading Windows and all the drivers, thinking something went awry during the loading of Windows, but to no avail.
Is it safe to assume that the onboard sound codec (ALC850) and\or the speaker jacks have\has a problem?
