Problem with older PC - won't post - no beeps

Having a problem with older PC and need some help with diagnosis.

1. About 6 days ago, the PC stopped booting/posting.

2. When power is pressed, the fans come on as do lights etc...but it doesn't post and there are no beeps. Monitor doesn't get any signal.

3. Tried some things including:

a) Replacing memory with old sticks that I had.

b) Trying 1 stick in all 4 slots and then trying another in all 4 slots.

c) Remove all memory (machine doesn't post, but I do hear 1 long and 2 short beeps in this scenario).

d) Remove AGP video card (machine doesn't post, but do hear 2 short beeps in this scenario).

e) Disconnected hard drive (no change in symptoms).

f) Cleared CMOS and removed battery (no change in symptoms).

Any ideas here?

Could it be the PSU?...I don't think it is...but who knows? I am leaning towards fried video card or problem with motherboard.

Motherboard is a P4P800 SE and BIOS is AMI I believe.

Thanks for any troubleshooting ideas in advance!

I would lean towards the video card as well. But first a question:

1) When you turn it on, does everything whir and click as if it was booting normally (just with no video)?

If YES then it looks like the video card is fried... if NO then it sounds like there's more to delve into.

The lack of beeps when everything is in could mean bad m/b but I'd expect no beeps with stuff pulled as well then.

Power supply might be on it's way out, but I'm not sure how to check that (of the top of my head)

I had a computer act that way when the cpu fan gave out. But I am leaning to the power supply. Not to hard to switch out if you have a spare.

Not sure if it was running hot...wasn't monitoring that. It is a secondary computer that runs most of the time and it hadn't been on in a couple days.

Then when tried to boot, fans, lights came on etc...but no beep and no boot. Monitor not receiving any signal at all (as if the comp was still off).

Will be getting a new PSU and GPU (was going to upgrade anyways) and hope things work from there. Hoping it is not the CPU...because it would be the last part to replace on the list.

Going to take everything apart, give it a cleanup and reconnect first...see what happens. If the same, going to replace PSU and GPU....then MOBO.

Crossing fingers...
