Problem with nforce4 and SATA HD

Hi all, anyone had trouble setting up your HD's? I just got a new WD SE16 250 gig HD (Sata 2), plugged it in and installed windows. My mobo is an epox EP-9npa+ultra, so
I went ahead and installed the nforce4 drivers and when I rebooted, I got this "boot from cd", "media failed to load" error. It wants me to insert a system disk and press enter. I was wondering if anyone else has gotten this error. I didnt have this problem with IDE drives (I have 2 connected). When I get home (I'm at work), I'll probably disconnect the other drives and reformat and see what happens.. its a strange error.

Does the drive show up in the bios?

I had an Epox 9NPA and a Raptor do exactly the same thing. Mine didn't show up in the bios anymore once it disappeared so no chance to reformat.

yeah it shows up fine in the bios. for some reason it just wont boot from the drive. It says Boot from CD then it goes into the media failure. I set the boot priority to hard disk.. but theres not option for sata drive. also, the sata drive is set as first priority hard drive. yours got screwed up after installing the nforce drivers?

ok I figured out what I did wrong. I have an old version of windows xp, so I installed windows w/ sp1 and forgot to install SP2. I loaded the updated drivers for nforce4, and I believe they're for service pack 2. So.. yeah not a good idea. If you do happen to screw it up, just delete the partition and reinstall. I feel smart...
