Problem with new video card and Quake III .

Hi all,
I just got rid of my Voodoo 3 2000 card and installed a Hercules Prophet Geforce MX. QIII won't run at all. When I try to start it, it goes to a blank grey screen and locks up the computer completely. Then I have to reboot.
I have tried reinstalling the game and uninstalling and then reinstalling the game and both times I got an error "The log file C:\Games\Quake iii\QIII isu is not valid or the data has been corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue"..
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Gary

Try deleting that log file first then try the uninstall again. If this does not work delete the Q3A folder and all it's files. Go to your registry and search on all Q3A entries and delete them.

Try to install again. I do beleive there is a "reinstall" option on the first screen of the install. Try that also as another option.

Make sure your setting in the game are for the opengl driver and NOT anything to do with Voodoo cards.

Thanks. I finally got it out of there with Norton Uninstall and then killed everything I could find relating to Q3.
Now for the reinstallation🙂

I've had similar experiences when dealing with Voodoo 3 cards and Quake III. Nuking Quake III and reinstalling should do it.
