I received delivery of a brand new KP-36HS500 on Saturday, and have started to experience a problem. There appears to be green discoloration that comes and goes in the bottom-right and upper-left corners of the screen. It comes and goes, and it's happened with different input sources.

My receiver and my TiVo both sit to the right of the TV and I haven't gotten the opportunity to move them to see if it affects the discoloration, but I don't see why the upper-left would be affected by that since there's nothing near the upper-left.

I've put a bunch of photos online of the problem:

Example photos of problem

Any advice? Do I report this to Sony or to Circuit City?

Thanks,

TVs degauss themselves. Unless you have something magnetic near it like speakers or something, or a UFO flying over your house, I'd say its defective and you should see if you can return it.

Believe it or not, it's caused by my TiVo.
I started moving components away one-by-one and when I got rid of the TiVo it went away.
I put the TiVo back and it came right back.

Now I've got to rewire stuff so the TiVo is far enough away so it doesn't screw up the signal.
The TV degausses itself everytime I turn it on, so fortunately it'll fix itself.

Thanks

My older Phillips DVD player is doing this to my current Sony 32 inch Trinitron. The green spot is in the upper left corner and annoying from time to time.
