Problem with new monitor

I recently purchased a 22inch acer monitor. Everything about it is amazing, except for one tiny detail.

Surrounding the viewable area, there is a silver frame. I noticed that on the left and right sides, there is a tiny amount of black between the viewing area and the frame. All that worries me is that on the right side, it is more noticeable. There is significantly more black space between the end of my desktop screen and the frame on the right side than on the left.

Anyone else experienced this and know a fix? Is it a monitor or graphics card related issue?

My video card is GeForce 7800GT

i think you can use the nvidia drivers to manually set the screen size. im pretty sure its overscan/hdtv overscan or something.

have you tried vga and see if its a problem for both outputs?

Sounds like they got sloppy in manufacturing the panel; that is, not entirely centered with the frame. Mines aren't perfect either, but it's unnoticable. Unless you're missing actual screen space, try to live with it;).

It might very well be a problem with my graphics card. On my previous Dell 17 inch crt, every time I started it up a different amount would be cut off of a different side.
