problem with new monitor and screen size in games

hey whenever I start a game up the screen shows up a little more than half wide. It happens with every game but not while on the desktop or when I open up browsers.

Probably because you will need to reset all the Hz's set on the resolutions that's still set for your old monitor.
Use some windows util to change your screen Hz .. do this on every resolution in windows (640x480 @ 60Hz.. set the screen correct, than go to 70Hz.. untill top and than go to 800x600 and so on..).
