well i just got a new gtx 260 core 216 today, upgrading from an ati x1950pro

my main problem is that with this new card, my monitor(24" sony gdm-fw900) becomes really fuzzy and unclear at high refresh rates at any resolution, and only looks nice and sharp at 60hz(which can be unbearable for me at times, especially with a crt monitor)

im almost 100% sure it has to be something with the video card or drivers, since things were perfectly fine and clear at all resolutions/refresh rates with my ati x1950pro

ive tried 3 different drivers (182.06- came with card, 182.50-latest WHQL, and 185.68-latest beta) and all the same result

anybody have any idea what is wrong, or is this normal with nvidia?

i can provide any other information that may help.

and on a side not, for some reason i do not have access to 1400x900 resolution anymore with this card/drivers like i had with my x1950pro

any help will be much appreciated.

Why are you trying to access such a low resolution?

What resolution are you using on it?

my native resolution i always use is 1920x1200 @85hz

but now with this new card @ 85hz its really fuzzy/blurry compared to before with my x1950pro where it was sharp and clear @85hz

but if i put it @ 60hz, the clarity and sharpness comes back to an adequate level

not being able access 1400x900 isnt really the main problem, but its something i dont really understand

Interesting...

Can you list all of your specs, including power supply, when you have a chance?

intel core 2 duo e4400 @ 3.0ghz
2gb G.Skill ddr2 800 ram
Antec smartpower 2.0 500w w/ 36amps psu(although it is borderline enough for it, id imagine it is fine since i was just playing crysis and other graphic heavy games at high rez/settings for extended period of time with no problems)

OK the PSU looks fine..

Did you uninstall the ATi drivers and subsequent nV drivers correctly before installing new ones?

Sounds like an issue with the signal coming through the cable. I'm assuming you're using a DVI to VGA converter?

Unfortunately I can't think of a simple way around that since your monitor doesn't accept DVI connections. Maybe picking up a cable that's DVI to VGA already? Grasping at straws here.

...or maybe a DVI to BNC cable?
