I just bought a new AMD 1600+ and a Radeon 7000 OEM. THe card is fine when in dos mode and even Windows XP safe mode (displayes 24 bit color) but when I try to boot Windows XP all I get at the startup screen is blank. But I can run my old Voodoo PCI video card and work great. I have tried a friends GeForce 2 Ultra and works fine too. I already RMAed the Video card once to newegg so I think the card is fine..... I applied the VIA drivers and went to the newest bios. I manually put in the newest Radeon drivers in too in safe mode. Anybody else know what could be wrong?

edit: It is a MSI KT266 Pro2 ver 2.0

H I had trouble installing my aiw 7500. The thing is to follow the directions to the letter. The best thing to try is go into device manager and uninstall/delete/whtever your primary display. Make sure that there is no display listed.

When I went from a gf2mx I had to go into display properties and uncheck write combining, and then delete the display before the new drivers would install.

It will ask you to reboot. do so, but before the machine powers back on, cut it off and put your new ati card in and then let it boot up. Then you can install your new drivers.

When I was trying to install the drivers for the aiw 7500 it kept giving me an error. After I did the stated above it worked and I haven't had a problem since.

Good luck with it.

I am having the same problem with updating my drivers for my radeon 32mg DDR card. The drivers I need gave it opengl support in XP! Do quake or wolfienstine for now......
