problem with new computer (fixed)

well i just build a new computer for a friend

here are the specs

3500+ venice
eVga 7800gt
msi k8n nf4-f
gig of OCZ value
antec neopower 480watt

installed windows fine, loads windows fine, but then a get a black screen for about 30 seconds..... then it will go the desktop. or it will just stay in the black screen forever. should i reinstall windows? or do you think its a power related problem?

check the temps. double check if your video card is securely seated in the slot.

temps are fine. as for the video card being securley seated in the pci-e slot, i would check that ASAP

Check your voltages

Check your temps

Check the RAM

Check and make sure everything is seated correctly


do these things and report back!

ok, we got it fixed. it was a faulty windows CD, thats all
