I'm having a problem with a new build:
MSI Z77 GD65
Asus GTX 680
Corsair AX1200w PSU
OCZ RevoDrive X2 240GB
This is an intermittent problem, which makes it difficult to diagnose the cause. Sometimes, when I either cold boot or restart, signal to the monitor fails; usually I can get it to come on by hitting the reset button a few times, but this is annoying. I have done the following to troubleshoot:
-Tried using different PCI-e slots on the board for the GPU.
-Updated bios to latest bios (10.5)
-Tried different monitors.
-Tried different video card (AMD 6770), this did resolve the issue; but why?
-Have tried running the video card alone, with no other devices in any of the other PCIe slots.
-The video card was working fine in my previous build.
-Have tried running the system outside of the box.
Other observations:
-When running the OCZ RevoDrive in the top PCIe x16 slot in the motherboard, it does not start up properly (it freezes at its own bios screen).
I am thinking of picking up another Z77 motherboard locally to test, but am posting here to see if anyone has heard of this issue or might know where the fix is. Thanks for reading.
