problem with new ati drivers win2k

ok, i used to have the 3116 win22k drivers, on april first, they released the 3124 drivers on rage3d.

i cant for the life of me make the driver version say 3124 in the device manager. ive tried hitting uninstall, restarting, and stick new ones there via device manager b/c the drivers arent an exe like the 3116.

i also tried to uninstall from the add/remove conotrol panel. when i install, it always ask for another file, and gotta either get it from winnt/system32 folder or red cd.

any success, help??

can't help you but thanx for the warning! i'm happily running the win2k 3116 drivers thanx to nicolt (except UT isn't working) and i was wondering about trying the 3124. I'll wait until more people try it out. Go back to the 3116 (fresh install).

im about to do that when i get home, i noticed cs messed up bad after a while, sound would die and i get a hard lockup. didnt happen before, but not sure how the video drivers would affect this.

You have to install the driver manually, as in :Extract the zip to a folder, then go to device manager>display adapters>properties>driver>update driver>display a list of known.......>have disk> then point it to the "atii2kag.inf" file in the folder you extracted the driver to>reboot and your done!

<< device manager>display adapters>properties>driver>update driver>display a list of known.......>have disk >>

i didnt try that, i let it search, and clicked that box that says let me install other.

ill try when i get home.
