Problem with new Abit KR7A

I have it hooked up to a 300W powersupply. It worked fine with just the CD-ROM and 60 gig harddrive, but after installing XP and putting my CD Writer and DVD drive along with two other WD 13 gig drives, nothing boots up. It wouldn't even send a signal to the monitor nor beeps at boot up. So I'm wondering what's at fault? Should I have gone with a 400 W power supply. Do you think I've damaged both my new motherboard and power supply as results? What should I do?
