Question Problem with network only on one pc and TV?

Hey guys, for a long time now I have been having issues with my iMac and tv only in one room. I have a windows pc in the same room which runs off a simple TP link USB wireless adapter without any issues. The iMac and tv both show the Verizon network and the TP Deco add-on network and I frequently during the day have to switch to either of the 2 networks going back and forth as the tv apps freeze and the iMac takes a while to find a web address.

I am wondering if I should add something like this please or any other ideas?

This "Thingie" (in the link) and its story seems to be more "Phoney" then the ISP Throttling.

However to judge what wrong with your system you ahve to describe the Actual hardware (modem Router Wireless and how thye are connected and would be connected to the wifiblast.

😎

If you have a wiring both the imac and tv, do that and see if the problems persist. If so, it's definitely more than than the wifi. If it solves the issues and you can keep it that way, enjoy the super reliable fast speed. Otherwise, we'll have to dig into what exactly you've got going on with your wifi (which is suspect is a bit of a signal mess).

Sounds like you have a repeater in the mix? Please try to elaborate on the config you're trying to troubleshoot. Provide as much detail as possible, including device models

Yes, I have a TP Deco repeater:

which we had purchased to get wifi in the detached garage out back.

Far as elaborating on the info I have already given, not sure what else I can add. The iMac and Amazon Fire tv both seem to need switching between the 2 networks regularly to work.

I am thinking only way would be to disable the TP Deco but I need it for the Garage.

Sounds like your repeaters aren't setup correctly, or are having problems with channels, interference, etc....also, are repeaters at latest firmware?

How do you connect TP-Link Deco and FIOS router? Via ethernet cable?

Does TP-Link Deco use same SSID as FIOS router? If the SSID are the same, it probably will cause problem, since FIOS router is not a mesh system.

Someone else had setup the TP Deco system so I will need to check with her to provide the info and get back to you. I do know the TP deco needed to have one of it's devices connected to one of the Verizon router's ports.

I don't know f the TP deco has the latest firmware so I would need to check.

What I am not understand most of all is why the problem only in my computer room and not the other rooms? The bedroom next to this room for example doesn't have any issues with tv freezing or computer internet problems. Also why doesn't the windows pc with the TP Link wireless USB adapter in this same room have any issues?

Every environment is different and surrounding objects play big roles.

This video explains how Wi-Fi signals work and affected by obstacles and objects.

The problem your FireTV app frozen problem probably is caused by unstable Wi-Fi signal. You probably need to add another mesh point in that room.

I just checked to see which network I am using right now and seems the iMac as usual keeps switching from the Verizon to the TP Deco network on it's own, just as the tv does, any idea why this happens please?

the windows pc does not do this, it stays on the preset Verizon network but that machine works off a TP Link USB wireless adapter so maybe that's why no issues with it.
