So I bought a 3540a for my new build, and I am trying to transfer some data on some Memorex DVD-R media from my old computer to this one. The burner on the old comp is a Memorex DVD+/-RW 8x, with Nero 5.

When I open the DVD's on the new computer theres nothing on them, if I do a discinfo it shows them at the right capacity though. I can read the disks fine on the old computer that I make them on.

The mainboard is a EPoX 9NPA+Ultra, not sure what the firmware for the NEC burner is, 1.1 I guess.

Any suggestions?

As much as I love my NEC burners they are not the best readers. You may need to install another drive temporarily to transfer the files. That or break down and buy a dedicated DVD-ROM drive. Maybe there will be a firmware that will fix the prob.

Just take the old burner out of your old computer and install it in the new computer temporarily. Copy all the files you need over to the new computer.
