Problem with my video card.

I have a PNY GeForce FX 5900 Ultra boxed up sitting in my closet. I was a nub at PC stuff one time and had quite a bit of money for w/e so I listened to my friend and got what he told me was good, he told me to get a Compaq, thats right a compaq and I listened to him and regret it, I also bought this high end video card FX5900, I started having trouble with it after the heatsink came off somehow and it overheated, I had to send it back, I sent it to PNY, they sent me a refurb card, when I tried to put it in the card was jammed in the AGP slot so I pulled it out and the clip on the end of the AGP slot broke, I then was able to get the card in. I started my pc up and it booted after about 5 tries and it does this everytime u turn it off if the card is in, not knowing if it was doing this from the AGP slot or because of a bad refurb I come to you. Also when I play games with the card the screen looks all broken up and the display looks all disfigured and switched around, it basically mixes up the image in an odd way and I cant tell what I'm looking at because there are tons of triangles and other shapes all over the place and I can SORT OF tell what I'm looking at if I squint my eyes. Someone please help me out, agp slot or bad refurb?

And I should also mention that the most likely thing that could have also damaged the card is because I was running it on a POS psu 250wat! all because of my dear sweet friend who betrayed me and made me get a compaq when i was helpless.

If your AGP slot broke i would guess its new mobo time. Since as I understand it it broke when you tried to install it? Or when you tried to take it off? What you could try is to find another AGP card (borrow from a friend or if you have an old gfx card lying aroung) put it in and see if it works. But if your AGP slot is fubared i doiubt it will help much.

It's not exactly broken It's just that the clip on the end of it broke off, none of the actual slot was damaged to my knowledge, just wondering if the clip could mess it up.
