I recently bought a new computer, witch i did build by myself
and I cant make it run at its designed speed..
the CPU is:
AMD XP 2500+ 512kb 333FSB socket-A
Barton 1.833GHz
and my mother board is:
ABIT AT7-MAX2
what i first started it it did run at 500mhz(100x5)
after that i tried to tune it up to 1300mhz(133x10)
and it failed to boot so i hit the "restart button a dozen times to make the mobo reset cmos..
when i then was able to boot up it did now say 1000mhz(100x10)
i give up fixing it myself so i just start windows and go online to find some help on irc
a m8 suggested id try 166x11 and so i did but it failed to boot again.
when i next managed to reset CMOS it was now running on 1100mhz(100x11)
so now i turn here for some help
neone have suggestions as to how to fix?
my mobo is suposed to recognize what cpu I have, but it dident, possibly cause of the cpu is newer than the mobo, tho i dont really know..
