Problem with my "Mail" button in IE 5.5 (SP2)

A small yet strange problem with my Mail button in IE. 5.5 (my OS is WinME, if it makes any difference).

When i click the "Mail" button in my toolbar, then scroll to "Read Mail" and select it, i get taken to the "Compose" tablet in Hotmail, when it should really be my inbox. Does anyone know why it does this? Checking my e-mail through MSN Messenger takes me to the correct Inbox tab, but doing it through the Mail icon in my toolbar takes me to the wrong one. I recently formatted, and this happened problem began immediately.

😕

Don't know if this will help, but

Open Internet Explorer.
Click Tools.
Click Internet Options.
Select Programs Tab.
Make sure the email program you want is selected.

Of course i did that 🙂.

It seems like a problem with IE itself. It's like the button is pointing to the wrong url in Hotmail. Instead of the url of the Inbox being where the "Read Mail" button is, it's the Compose url in it's place, thus sending me to the Compose section each time instead of the Inbox.

any othre ideas, anyone?
