Problem with my laptop's power supply

I have an HP ZE5610ca laptop, and I accidentally push the plug (inside the laptop) in farther than it already was. Due to this, the power plug doesn't make proper contact, and I can't get the laptop to power up. I can get all the screws out, and start taking the laptop apart, but the plastic casing, around the power plug, will not separate enough for me to gain better access to pull it back out. Using pliers, and even surgical pliers, i cannot get enough pull on the plug to pull it back out. Can anyone suggest a way to get the casing off, or to get the plug pulled back out? Any ideas are appreciated.
