Hello all,

I recently build my very own computer, but something is bugging me.

My system:
gigabyte Z170X UD5 TH mobo, i7 6700(non-k) cpu, be quiet dark rock advanced c1 cpu cooler, 2x 4GB DDR4 RAM Kingston hyper X @2133Mhz (not overclocked), Gigabyte G1 gaming GTX 970 gpu, corsair AX860 psu, samsung 850 evo 500GB SSD, TP link archer T9e wifi card, corsiar obsidian 750D computer case, windows 10 home 64bit, benQ xl2430t.

I have put everything together, first time booting up I got LED debugcode 55. Looked up the code in my manual and found out my RAM was not competely inserted into my mobo.

Second try my computer booted and I installed windows 10 and necessary drivers (not all because some were giving installation errors). I don't have an optical drive so I downloaded from the gigabyte website. I will buy an external optical drive to get the from the included DVD. But anyway the necessary drivers are installed: mobo chipset driver, nvidia gpu driver, wireless internet driver, audio driver (not f.e. ethernet driver).

Everything is working fine. I downloaded steam and played some games. Computer seems to be performing as expected. All the fans are spinning(case, cpu and gpu). So nothing wrong there. My computer also recognizes all the hardware in my mobo.

BUT I get these LED debugcodes and I don't know what they mean so it stresses me out a bit. It makes me think something is wrong with the computer, but there is no indication of that because it is working fine.

I recognized a patern:

when I shut down my computer and then boot it back up it gives me as LED debugcode: 04
when I restart my computer it gives me as LED debugcode: 51
when I put my computer into sleep mode and wake it back up it gives me as LED debugcode: 03

Can someone help me to understand this? Is there a problem with my computer? Or don't I need to be worried?

Thanks in advance for all your helpfull comments!

51 - memory initialization error.

The manual does not have 03-04 codes. Are the 0 really D?

I would check the Bios to make sure the memory is set up correctly. I had to set mine to XMP to get it to pick up the correct timings automatically. I would also get a memory check program and run it.

On many motherboards, the debug LED readout will change to a different display after POST is finished (temperature, etc.). If the computer works fine, I would not worry about it.

Hello,

I see you have the same mobo. Would you please tell me what your mobo shows as led debugcodes after:
first power up: (mine 04)
being put out of sleep status: (mine 03)
restart: (mine 51)

THX! The codes are 03 and 04 and not D3 and D4

I am running memtest86 tonight

Your motherboard may show a bunch of codes at various times that basically mean "I'm checking my extremities, checking my glasses, checking my beer... I'm good."

Are you Prime95 stable?

Boot: A0 - IDE initialization is started.
Sleep: 03 - Nothing in the manual about this code
