Hi!

I bought the ATi TV Wonder VE card a couple months ago. She always worked fine in Windows 9x, but she doesn't work in Windows 2000-XP :(

I can't install drivers from the ATi Drivers CD, cause it been made only for windows 9x.

So, I descided to go on the website of ATi and download ATI Multimedia Center 7.1 (MMC_7_1_TVWONDER.exe), but it don't seem to work. I think I need something else? Is it possible? I cannot wait anymore to watch the TV on my computer!!!

Thks in advance for your help,
Best regards,

Dom

I kinda have the same problem as you. I have the card and Windows 2000 and the drivers from the CD didn't work. So, I downloaded the file you mention. As I recall, it was a major pain in the @$$ to install, but I made it work.

As I recall, after installing that software, you have to go into the device manager, select the "unknown" devices, and manually point to the driver files that extracted when you installed the software. It was a major hassle, but I managed to make it work.

What I've said so far is pretty vague. Give me some more details on what you've done, and I'll see what specific advice I can offer.

well, after the installation, the setup is creating a system compatibility check and it failed on these things:

Primary: Graphics Chip: Not ATi Rage Pro or LT Pro more or more recent card
Primary: unknown
Primary: Graphics board memory is unknown Mbytes

Is it a problem? I got a Creative Geforce 2 GTS 32 mb DDR

Oh and by the way, I got 2 things in Device Manager/Other devices after the installation:

- Multimedia Controller
- Multimedia Video Controller

is it what you'r talking about?

Yeah, those two "controllers" are your TV tuner. You have to right click on each device and manually install the drivers which are located in the directory you installed the software in.

It's a good card, but a major mofo to set up in 2K. :frown:

On an unrelated note, have you thought about putting that T-Bird 900 to work for Team AnandTech? Check my sig for more info :)
