problem with MSI KA266R with DVD Drive

Hey everyone, under windows 2000, my DVD drive, from Creative, keeps disconnecting itself. For those of you unfamiliar with W2k, I get a popup message that says "Unsafe Removal of Device....."

Any suggestions? The drive is plugged in and the jumpers are set correctly, Secondary Master.
