Problem with Ms Internet Keyboard Pro USB

CP

Senior member
After reinstalling WinME, my "Shift" key doesn't work anymore in any word processor (it works with WinME previously). I'm using Ms Internet Keyboard Pro connect via USB port with the latest Intellitype driver (ver 1.2) installed. Usually I hold down the "shift" key while pressing the arrow button to select some text for editing. However right now it seems not functioning at all. I also tried on Ms-DOS edit, notepad, wordpad and Word 2000 but still the same.

In system properties there are two devices listed under keyboard option:
- HID Compliant Keyboard
- Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro

I tried to remove the HID device but then my keyboard was not functioning at all when I try to type something. Then I hit refresh and the HID device came back again. When I remove both device and let window to re-detect (using "add and remove hardware" and also with reboot) but it found two devices again. Up to this point the shift still doesn't work.

Please help.

Thanks
JC

have you tried using the ps/2 port (does it have it?)?
Next, try another computer.

Do both shift keys not work? Or just one? If nothing works, it could be just gone, in which you could probably RMA it.

It works right now. What I did just change it to use PS/2 port and then change it back to USB port. Thanks for mentioning the PS/2 port lnguyen 🙂
