I recently started experiencing problems with my mouse which prompted me to inspect if there were any errors showing up in the event log. My cursor would occasionally stop and stall at a place and other times it would just lock up and not move at all.
When i went to the event log i say the following error log entries in event log:
Source:i8042prt
Could not set the mouse sample rate.
Source:i8042prt
Could not set the mouse resolution.
Do you think these errors are hardware related or software? I've used to mouse for every 3 years and only recently has it given me such problems. Could these errors point to something wrong hardware-wise that is beyond even the mouse such as the mobo?
